Andrea Nunes began her human resources career with GE in 1998, with the former electrical distribution & controls business in Brazil. In 2000, she moved to the United States and joined the Human Resources Leadership Program with assignments in Salem, Virginia; Burlington, Iowa; and Charlottesville, Virginia. She progressed through roles of increased responsibility with Industrial Systems in Plainville, Connecticut; and with Consumer & Industrial in Louisville, Kentucky.
Nunes was promoted in 2007 to manager of HR development programs, with responsibility for the HR learning and development strategy for GE, based at the corporate headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut. In 2009, she was appointed senior human resources manager, global sales and marketing for GE Energy, based in Atlanta. She moved to Paris in September 2011 to lead the HR Integration and the Organization & Talent Development activities for the Power Conversion acquisition.
More recently, Nunes served as the senior human resources director for Working Capital Solutions, a business unit of GE Capital International, based in Stamford, Connecticut.
In July 2014, she was appointed to her current role as the lead HR support for the finance, business development and internal audit functions of GE Capital Worldwide. She is located in the GE Capital headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Prior to joining GE, she worked as an exports/imports specialist in Brazil. She earned an associate technical degree in electrical engineering from CEFET-MG, a bachelor’s degree in international business from FCG-UNA, and a post-graduate diploma from UFMG, all in Brazil.
Nunes has a passion for writing, yoga and volunteering. She is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
